MenuIQ started on a cross-country road trip. Steve was moving from San Francisco to New York, and at stop after stop along the way, the same frustration kept surfacing — restaurants with incomplete allergen information, staff who weren't sure what was in a dish, and menus that left too much to chance.
Steve has a severe food allergy. Dining out has always meant navigating incomplete menus, hoping the server knew what was actually in a dish, and too often playing it safe. Somewhere on that road trip, he and Spencer started asking a simple question: why is this still so hard? Not just for diners with allergies — but for the restaurants that genuinely want to do better.
That conversation became MenuIQ.
