Consumer Health Data Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 5, 2026
MenuIQ, LLC
This policy explains how MenuIQ handles "consumer health data" as defined by Washington's My Health My Data Act and Nevada law. It supplements our Privacy Policy.
What we collect
Only what you choose to add in the MenuIQ AI app, after you agree to it:
-
your allergies;
-
dietary needs and conditions (for example celiac or lactose intolerance);
-
cross-contamination sensitivity;
-
whether Pregnancy Mode is on.
We also create information from it: your Personal Fit Scores and the dishes flagged for you. If you choose to show profile badges (for example an allergy or pregnancy), those are health information you've chosen to make public.
Where it comes from
From you, and from our analysis of the menus you view or scan using what you've added.
Why we use it
Only to give you the features you ask for — flagging dishes, filtering menus, and estimating your fit — and to keep the Service secure and meet legal obligations. We never sell it or use it for advertising.
Who receives it
Service providers that process it for us under contract, only to provide the Service:
-
our AI provider (Google, reached through OpenRouter), which analyzes a menu against your settings;
-
our hosting provider (Railway);
-
our network provider (Cloudflare), which carries app traffic;
-
our diagnostics provider (Sentry), which is configured not to receive personal information.
We share it with others only if the law requires it, or as part of a merger or sale of our business, where it stays protected by this policy. Profile badges you add are visible to anyone who views your profile. Your private settings are never shown to others.
Your rights
You can:
-
see your health information, and ask which providers it was shared with;
-
withdraw your consent;
-
ask us to delete it.
To do so, use Settings → Privacy in the app, or email [email protected] with "Consumer Health Data Request" in the subject.
We respond within 45 days, or tell you if we need up to 45 more. Deleted information is removed from our active systems within 30 days and from backups within 90 days.
Appeals
If we decline your request, you can appeal by replying to our decision or emailing [email protected] with "Appeal" in the subject. We'll answer within 45 days. If you're in Washington and disagree with the result, you can file a complaint with the Washington State Attorney General at https://www.atg.wa.gov/file-complaint.
Tracking
No third party collects your health information about your activity across other websites or apps through MenuIQ.
Changes to this policy
If we make a material change, we'll update the date above and tell you in the app. If a change would let us collect, use, or share your health information in a new way, we'll ask for your consent first.
